Since the European servers should be ready for playing soon, then I was wondering if we could get some hot tips from the people that already have been playing for a little while.
What class do you consider to be the best from your point of view?
And a "why" would be cool. :)

Happy voting! :P

I have heard paladin is the most beardy class up to date. But from the diffrent classes I have tested, I liked hunter the most. (a bit squishy tho, but after level 40 it should get better. To bad im to lazy to even think of levelling a beta char to that.)

I like mages , mainly cause i always liked the flashy spells but also their immense direkt damage ability.
A WoW mage can Sheep one enemy for XX seconds ( Up to a minute at best i think ) but one enemy only.  The cold spell affects their movement speed aswell as attack speed and is devastating vs melee in pvp but almost worthless pvp ranged. Manashield and Ice barriers as defensive spells to make up for the low HP / Armor but it dont outweight the negatives.

I would go hunter cause its a strong profession but mage is what i really want to try out

Yes, true it seems to be a balanced game. But.. It would be nice to hear what each class is good for.
I don't think this is a new AO where you spend 90% of your time leveling to max lvl. It seems to me that you spend more time actually being max lvl.
So i want to know what makes each class great at lvl 60. :)

afaik Rogues can deal pretty good damage in PvE, and good for popping cloth wearing chars in PvP.

Well, I'm a 30 Hunter on EU beta ;)
I think this is one of the best PvE classes at least, people are whining about us being "overpowered" so that's a sure sign :P.
Anyways, doing 100ish DPS, which is pretty sturdy at my lvl. We're not really squishy either, since we got a pet that tanks extremely well, along with nice evades if we're going melee (aspect of the monkey).
Mobs 4 lvls above me is no problem, and close to no downtime.

shut up aegd

rogues stink ;P

Logisk : the experience i had is everyone just enjoys their character... i at one point wanted to try anything else than my main character because they had something my toon didnt (duh) but couldn't decide since all have their coolness attached to it.... just pick what you think that might suit your playstyle... like a mage, get the game (once it's released) login and create a mage (ex) play and have fun =]

about the leveling part...most people say doing the quest is the main part, all quests are unique...not just a generated mission where the name is replaced of the mission holder, and mission place/area, so the main thing is having fun doing them quest, the bonus is you gain a level once in a while ;P

My +word on the subject  8)

Currently Paladins and Shamans are considered the "uber" to the point of overpowered classes.

I'm playing a rogue and having tons of fun.

The server seems to be 50% hunters, so if you want some originality, you might want a different class.

Druids are fun but way underpowered at higher levels.

Shadow Spec'ed priest = pwnage. And you can never have tooo many healers.

Playing a rogue and having a ton of fun. Spiz summed up my thoughts pretty well.

I did play as a Druid in CB. That was fun as well, but the good at all master of none routine got old.

That said if I ever make an alt the druid is at the top of my list.

Schu!!! I love you!! What server are you on?

On tpoic though.. I play a priest and love her.. only thing I don't like is how easily I get interupted on my spell casting by the creatures and such things like that.. Nothing seems to cast fast enough for me.. but I've never liked playing a hunter type in any game

yo mates, long time ago without enter in this forum, im playing US version now, and i thing all clases r really good at high lvl, all have good thinks for PvE and PvP, after my experience in US beta and US version i can say some thinks about some clases, Hunter is really good, at PvE can soloing really good with his pet and at pvp is good cause this game is a zerk fights (200 vs 200) and range is a good fight style for that, rogues is my favourite class but i know hunters r much better, rogues can deal pretty dmg, and his evades and crits make them a good class for enjoy, shaman is 1 of the top list best class, at lvl 40 all ppl wear mail type armors and deal too much dmg and can heal like a adventure class in AO, warloks r a greater debuffer and good buffer team char, cause his pets can learn toons of abilities and buff his party, priest is a healer of this game but is like a doctor in AO, his dots r really hards, mages r a good PvP class cause like i said before this game is zerk PvP style and they have aoe attacks with a lot of dmg, warriors is a bit nerfed in this game, good for team and tank but his dmg is really low cause his agility is low too, if u go to warrior make a good tank and dont try to make good dmg too, i think is a PvE char. Druids, i dont like them, no good dmg and no good heals, only good for chain roots and i cant say nothing about palas cause i played ever in horde and all palas i saw near at my lvl i killed them easy. Well thats my experience......

Hunters are lower in the food chain that warriors imo,  all classes are good though theres no "best class".  Its all about your play style, do you like doing the most damage but mind being weak, or like dealing good damage but wearing the best armor.  Theres no point asking us what class to play, youll play the game and ussually youll stick with the second character you make, almost everyone makes one character to the level 15-20 range then rerolls to the class they stick with.

they must really suck.. cause i'm lvl 43 paladin and i can take on 2 people in PVP and up to 3 mobs my lvl in PvE. Pally's are the best for soloing/tanking/secondary healer.  plus they get a free mount at lvl 40 :D

hunters are fun good all around... warriors suck, shamans are the horde pally but with totems and crap, mages are good for pvp with aoe, warlocks are good in pvp as well especially vs priest their pet debuffs people. rouges are cheap as  hell i hate them :P always have to watch my damn back.  i think i'm missing some but they arent important.

the crafting system is awesome in the game.

Paladin and Hunter are the best, but I pick Paladin, because they can heal and wear plate and are wanted in teams. Although Hunters get runspeed.
