Now the real interesting stage of the tournament starts. Mediocre teams like England are out, the French implosion was even more spectacular than I anticipated, and the Italians were simply too old.

Brazil, Holland, Germany, Argentina and Spain are all likely candidates to go all the way. Spain got a easy route to the semis, while two of the other favorites will be knocked out in the quarter finals. Germany is the new Holland and Holland seems like a new Germany with their solid, but rather boring aproach. Spain is gathering momentum and Brazil looks very strong, my bet is on one of those sides to win, but Argentina is the team I hope wins.
